Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Traverse Family Therapy LLC (“Traverse,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit this website or contact us through it (the “Site”). Health information about our clients is also protected by HIPAA, and our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we handle it.

1. Information You Give Us

When you fill out a form, call, text or email us, you may share your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in, whether you prefer in-person or telehealth sessions, how you plan to pay, and anything else you choose to write. Our forms also record which page and which form you used, the buttons you clicked on our Site before sending the form, the first page you visited on our Site, and the website or link that brought you to us.

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request and the date and time of your visit. We use this information to keep the Site running, secure and fast.

We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on the Site.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information you give us to respond to your inquiry, answer your questions, schedule appointments, check your insurance benefits when you ask us to, send appointment reminders, and run and improve the Site. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers that help us run the practice and the Site, such as our website host, our form and client relationship system, our scheduling and client records system, and our phone and text service. Providers that handle health information on our behalf sign a business associate agreement with us, as HIPAA requires. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. We do not share your mobile number or your consent to receive text messages with anyone for their own marketing.

5. Text Messages and Email

If you give us your phone number or email address, we may contact you about your inquiry and your appointments. Message and data rates may apply, and how often we message you depends on your scheduling. Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts, or ask us at any time to stop contacting you by text or email. Email and text messages are not fully secure, so please do not send detailed clinical information that way.

6. Cookies

The Site itself does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It may use a small number of cookies or similar browser storage so that it works properly, and to remember how you reached the Site and which buttons you clicked, until you close the page. That information stays in your browser and is only sent to us if you send a form. The embedded Google maps on our Contact and About pages may set Google’s own cookies.

7. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections for the whole Site and HIPAA-compliant systems for client information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. How Long We Keep Information

We keep inquiry information as long as we need it to respond to you and to keep accurate records. Client records are kept for as long as Utah law and professional standards require.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the information you have given us through the Site, or to stop contacting you, by calling or writing to us. We may need to keep some information where the law requires it. Clients have additional rights over their health information, which are explained in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

10. Children's Privacy

The Site is meant for adults, including parents and guardians looking for care for their children. We do not knowingly collect information through the Site from children under 13 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us information through the Site, contact us and we will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.

11. Other Sites and Services

The Site links to services run by other companies, such as our client portal and online booking, our video platform, online directories and maps. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them. Our Contact and About pages also show an embedded Google map. When one of those pages loads, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information and may set its own cookies, as described in Google’s privacy policy.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Changes apply from the date they are posted.
