Terms of Service

Traverse Family Therapy LLC is an outpatient therapy practice based at 60 W Canyon Crest Road, Alpine, Utah 84004. We see clients in person in Alpine and by telehealth across Utah. Some of our clinicians are not yet independently licensed. They practice under the clinical supervision of a licensed clinician, as Utah law requires.

The Site, our contact forms, our email and our voicemail are not monitored around the clock and are not a way to get help in an emergency. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. If you are in crisis or thinking about suicide, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at any hour. Utah students and families can also reach crisis counselors through the SafeUT app.

Everything on the Site, including articles, service descriptions, clinician profiles and resources, is general information. It is not therapy, diagnosis or medical advice, and it does not replace care from a qualified professional who knows your situation. Reading the Site, submitting a form, calling or emailing us does not make you a client or create a therapist-client relationship. That relationship begins only after intake, once you have signed our consent and intake documents.

Therapy is different for every person and every family. We do not promise any particular result, timeline or outcome, and nothing on the Site should be read as a guarantee.

The Site is meant for adults, including parents and guardians looking for care for their children. Therapy for anyone under 18 requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian, except where the law provides otherwise. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us.

Our forms are for questions and scheduling. Please keep what you send brief and save the details of your situation for your intake or first session. Only submit information about another person if you have their permission or, for a minor, if you are their parent or legal guardian.

When you contact us or become a client, we may reach you by phone, text message or email about your inquiry, scheduling and appointments. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to any text message, or ask us at any time to stop texting or emailing you. Email and text messages are not fully secure. If you prefer that we not use them, let us know.

You can request an appointment through our contact forms, by phone or through our online booking. Current session fees are listed on our Pricing page. Fees may change, and we let current clients know before a new fee applies to them. Our Payment & Cancellation Policy explains cancellations, late cancellations, missed appointments, the card on file and outstanding balances, and it is part of these Terms. If you don’t have insurance or don’t plan to use it, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of what your care is expected to cost.

Information about insurance on the Site is general. Whether a session is covered, and how much your plan pays, depends on your plan and is decided by your insurer. We recommend checking your benefits with your insurer before your first session. You are responsible for any amount your insurance does not pay, subject to your plan’s requirements, as our Payment & Cancellation Policy explains.

Telehealth sessions take place over a secure video platform. Because clinicians are licensed by state, you need to be physically located in Utah at the time of each telehealth session, unless your clinician has confirmed they are licensed where you are. Please join from a private space where you can talk freely, on a device with a working camera, microphone and internet connection.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information you share through the Site. Our Notice of Privacy Practices explains how we use and protect clients’ health information. Every client receives it at intake.

The Site links to and relies on services run by other companies, such as our client portal and online booking, our video platform, online directories and maps. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.

Please use the Site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to submit false information, try to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our systems or anyone else’s information, upload malicious code or interfere with how the Site works, or copy the Site’s content with automated tools.

The Site and everything on it, including text, photos, videos, logos and design, belong to Traverse Family Therapy LLC or to those who have licensed them to us. You may view, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our written permission.

We work to keep the Site accurate and current, but details such as clinician availability, fees and accepted insurance can change, and we may update or remove any part of the Site at any time. The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties about the Site, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful code.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Traverse Family Therapy LLC and its owners, clinicians and staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, or for any loss caused by relying on information on the Site. This section applies to your use of the Site only. It does not limit any responsibility we have to our clients for the care we provide, which is governed by our consent documents and by law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the Site or these Terms will be resolved in the state courts located in Utah County, Utah, or in the federal courts for the District of Utah, and you and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Changes apply from the date they are posted, and if you keep using the Site after that, you accept the updated Terms.
