Why We Decided to Help Teenagers, Children, Couples, and Families

A specialist practice rather than a general one.

A specialist practice rather than a general one. Families, teenagers, children, couples and parents, and not everything else. A clinic that tries to be good at everything ends up being the place a teenager gets seen by whoever had a gap, and that is how a family ends up deciding that therapy does not work for them. And then families don’t get the help they need.

Faith-literate rather than faith-based. Families arrive from every position on that question (devout, questioning, out, and somewhere in the middle), and each of them worries the therapist will push the other way. We do not have an agenda about where your family lands.

Outpatient, and honest about it. An hour a week sometimes has real limits. If someone needs a higher level of care, we will refer you.

How the Practice Works, and Why

  1. The Profiles Are Their Own Words.

Every clinician here answered the same questions in their own words: who they work best with, what a session with them is actually like, and what they think makes therapy work. Nobody rewrote the answers into house style. You are reading them, not us.

  2. We Are Transparent About Pricing.

We are transparent about what we charge and how that works. You should be able to work out whether you can afford us without calling to ask, and without getting attached to a therapist first.

  3. Family Systems

Sometimes we work closely with the parents, or with one person in the relationship they are describing. As you work with your therapist, they will guide you and help you work on that family.

  4. Therapy That Moves You Forward

We focus on therapy that moves you forward, giving you clear guidelines, a process to follow, and engaging all of the people who are part of it. Your therapist will help you navigate that process.

  5. We Keep Checking It Is Working

We are not interested in endless sessions. Structured does not mean rigid; it means there is a direction. Your therapist will revisit what you are working toward rather than letting the sessions become a standing appointment nobody re-examines.

  6. We Say When We Are Not the Right Fit.

Including on the phone, before you have paid for anything. And if it turns out to be the wrong fit after you have started, say so early: moving to a colleague inside the practice is ordinary rather than awkward, and if nobody here is right we will help you look elsewhere.
