I went through my own divorce in 2016, and therapy changed my life. I became a therapist to give back and to show people there is a way forward. Below, I have answered a few questions so you can get to know me.

Meet Holly

A short introduction from Holly is being filmed.

Why I Became a Therapist

I went through my own divorce in 2016 and therapy changed my life. I became a therapist to give back to show people there is a way forward after general trauma and relational trauma as well as a way back from using unhealthy coping skills to survive (addiction).

What I Bring to This Work

I think my broad experiences make me unique and helpful. I can adapt and shift gears to helping most people in a wide variety of ways. For example I may start working with a betrayed wife, and then we need to work on setting boundaries, and emotion regulation, then we need to dive into deeper trauma work to help her with her immediate pain and with all of the childhood attachment wounds that have surfaced. While we work on those, we also can help the couple to set their own logistical boundaries and expectations and establish safety, while the other spouse works on creating his own plans, showing up for his wife while also getting to the root of his struggles. Then we work on logistically coming together and lastly emotionally becoming united, following relationship repair. This is simply an example of SA/BT, however most individuals are too complex for one single approach or modality so I move with them and adapt as their needs and circumstances change. It's complicated but it can be such a beautiful and healing process. I can also run groups and have run groups for Brannon for years. I'm at home in Spanish-speaking cultures, and you're welcome to use Spanish phrases in session. I don't offer full sessions in Spanish.

Who I Work Best With

I love trauma. I love using bottom-up approaches for deeper work. I also love working with BT and SA. I love when people come into my office in crisis (affairs, pornography, etc.) and I work with the whole system. Not required, but I often work with all three parties which is kinda unique. I have taken dozens of couples from the doorstep to disclosure, to individual growth and then back to couple growth. I have also helped clients navigate divorce and the blending of families. Hard to pick just a few, although I feel as though they often overlap. And I love trauma in general. Childhood sexual trauma, religious trauma and even little t trauma.

What a Session With Me Looks Like

I get to the root fairly quickly and directly. I will listen and I will help them come up with a plan not to put a Band-Aid on issues, but to get to the root of the problem from varying therapeutic approaches. Using bottom-up approaches, their bodies will guide us where to go and how to heal. I am just the facilitator.

What I Think Creates Change

First, the relationship; we build trust and they will see that we have a deep connection and they will see that I will be loving and supportive but also encourage them to dig deeper in order to become more regulated, aligned with their values and a more honest and connected person.

If You Are Not Sure About Starting

I would say, take the first step. Everyone is nervous at first. "The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek." One of the things I often tell clients is that healing comes from within. The journey inward can feel so scary at first because it requires us to face the very places we've spent years trying to avoid. But as we begin to explore those places with curiosity and compassion, we often discover strengths, wisdom, and resilience that were there all along. The treasure isn't becoming someone new, it's reconnecting with our true self, who is aligned and capable and truly "good inside."

Outside of Work

I have experienced the difficulties of divorce and trying to find myself again and then the experiences of trying to blend with someone new. I have 6 blended kids. I love traveling and I lived in Argentina for 5 years.
